Study Shows that New Porsche 911 Garnered the Most Web Buzz from the Frankfurt Motor Show

Now that the 2011 International Auto Show in Frankfurt has passed into history, analysts are crunching the numbers to see which carmakers and models sparked the crowd's interest the most.

UK-based Kantar Media Precis released the results of a study that looks into the number of online stories from websites, Tweets, blogs and other social media starting from two weeks before the first press day of the Frankfurt Motor Show on Aug. 30, 2011, until the end of the second press day on Sept. 14, 2011.

The study reveals that the most talked about model on the internet was the new Porsche 911 sports coupe, while next up was the Mercedes-Benz B Class small MPV, followed by the BMW i3 Concept hatch, the Audi Urban Concept studies and the Ford Evos Concept.


According to the findings of the study, Audi and Ford were the most popular brands among bloggers and YouTube users, with the Audi A2 Concept taking first place followed by the Ford Evos Concept.

The statistics show that from August 30 to September, a total of 19,549 online news stories and 5,666 social media posts talked about the 2011 IAA in one way or another, with 59 percent of those discussions taking place before the first press day on September 13.

For what it's worth, the most viewed 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show story on Carscoop in the same time period was the Ford Evos Concept followed closely by the new Porsche 911 and the Jaguar C-X16.

Infiniti Confirms Limited Production Run of FX Sebastian Vettel Edition










With Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel having clinched the second consecutive drivers' championship crown after the results of the Japanese Grand Prix on Sunday, it was only a matter time before Infiniti would confirm what we already suspected after the debut of the FX concept in Frankfurt: the crossover that bears his name will enter a limited run production.

The announcement was made by Nissan Executive Vice President Andy Palmer at an interview for the company's corporate blog.


As a refresher, Sebastian Vettel, who is an ambassador for the Infiniti brand, helped design a special version of the FX50 luxury crossover with several modifications including a tweaked V8 delivering 420-horses, numerous aerodynamic enhancements inspired by F1 racecars and lowered chassis.


Further details on the production version of the FX Sebastian Vettel Edition are expected to be released before the end of the year.

In the interview, Palmer said that the "relationship" between Infiniti and Vettel will proceed through the company's IPL division, which is being modeled after BMW's M series and Mercedes' AMG arm.

"First of all, doing the Sebastian Vettel Version was fun. It was fun for Sebastian, it was fun for Shiro Nakamura and actually it’s a really interesting car. But it’s also a kind of pilot for IPL, Infiniti Performance Line. It’s about being able to do our equivalent of AMG or M-series and we wanted to test the organization and can the organization cope we’ve these type of special versions," said Palmer.

"This is one of the first versions that will go to market. Not as an IPL—it’ll obviously go as the Sebastian Vettel special version, but it demonstrates we’re able to do these low volume, very special versions and be able to charge a premium for that kind of work. Again, hopefully, with Sebastian now the world champion, the demand for his special version is going to be that much higher," he added.

The new 2012 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4







Internally known as model “LB834,” the Aventador’s one-piece passenger cell is made entirely of a new-generation reinforced carbon fiber formulated with help from Boeing Aerospace, and it weighs in at just 324 pounds, while the whole naked chassis including aluminum front and rear crash structures weighs just 505 lbs. Overall bending and twisting stiffness is said to be double that ever experienced with the Murcièlago. Every carbon fiber cell is created in a just-completed facility at Lambo HQ in Sant’Agata Bolognese, and between 700 and 800 units per year is the ultimate goal once the full-rhythm build starts after the August summer holidays when Italy traditionally shuts down. The best year for the Murc was 2007, when 613 were delivered worldwide.
The new 691-hp (SAE), 6.5-litre V12 engine out back – called “L539″ in Lambo-speak – is a massive 40 lbs. lighter than the Murcièlago engine, sits 2.8 inches lower in the chassis, is nine percent more powerful, and produces upwards of 20 percent better fuel efficiency in the hands of the right driver (for a whopping 13.7 mpg average). Dry weight of an Aventador is now just 3,472 lbs. compared to the Murcièlago’s 3,671 lbs., a healthy five percent reduction in a class segment where weight loss is a crucial and constant challenge. Weight distribution is a predictable 43 percent front and 57 rear.
The current estimated acceleration time for Aventador to 60 mph is 2.8 seconds (i.e. 2.9 to 100 km/h) when dallying in the fields of Launch Control. The engine howls with all power on tap now up to 8,250 rpm, and there’s much more flexibility in the mid-revs with almost all of the 509 pound-feet of torque available from 5,000 rpm and more going on also at the lowest revs.
The new seven-speed ISR (“Independent Shifting Rods”) Graziano single-clutch gearbox is said to polish off shifts in Corsa mode in just 50 milliseconds while weighing half as much as the old E-gear Audi R-tronic-like dual-clutch system. And for the first time on a Lamborghini, the suspension is pulled right out of Formula-car thinking with its sophisticated inboard pushrod spring and damper setup. Top speed realized so far, so they tell us, has gone beyond the stated 217 mph max.

This was a month ago event but here’s the recap from the 2011 Detroit Auto Show. After a while we didn’t posted hot girls from this blog, this time we bring the last event up. A year 2011 edition of Detroit Auto Show is of course comes hot with the world’s biggest automakers come to US in order to reveal their latest production.
A lot of cars worth spending time such as 2012 Honda Civic Concept, Si Coupe version and the Hyundai Veloster Concept with innovative rear door. Unfortunately there was not much cars that really get excited over to see other than the Porsche 918 RSR. Fortunately there were good amount of hot girls or booth babies there to cheer up the event.

Bentley Launches Mulliner Styling Pack for Continental GT












Bentley’s new Continental GT is, without question, a coupe with imposing road presence. But the British firm wishes to offer its customers the opportunity to make their cars even more unique by launching a range of styling options named Mulliner Styling Specification Classic Pack.This styling package consists of a front splitter, strakes integrated in the front intake grilles, side extension blades and a rear diffuser, all made from glossy black carbon-fibre.

If you think these are not enough, Bentley also offers more options such as a carbon-fibre rear spoiler and mirror covers, as well as dark mesh front wing vents and black 21-inch 7-spoke alloy wheels.
According to Bentley’s head of exterior design, Raul Pires, the Mulliner Styling Specification Classic Pack “with its sharper lines and darker, lower appearance underlines the iconic form of Bentley’s new GT, underscores its extrovert, flamboyant nature and delivers a more personalized, sportive interpretation of a luxurious and refined GT”.
The Classic Pack is already available to order, while the optional features will be available from the following autumn.

New Transformers Movie Spawns 2012 Chevy Camaro Special Edition

General Motors is trying to squeeze every ounce of publicity out its association with the makers of the third Transformers movie, called Dark of the Moon, which opens exclusively in 3D Tuesday and worldwide Wednesday.

Aside from having an army of cars featured in the film, the Detroit automaker is also launching yet another limited edition Camaro model based on the Autobot “Bumblebee” character.
The 2012 Camaro Transformers Special Edition will be offered as a $3,000 package on 2LT and 2SS Camaro Coupes with Rally Yellow paint. Along with the content provided in the RS package, the Transformers edition adds bespoke black rally stripes that cover the hood, roof, decklid and the unique rear spoiler.
A set of 20-inch alloy wheels finished in black and wrapped in high-performance summer tires along with some cheesy Autobot Shield logos on the center caps and front quarter panels, complete the exterior changes.
As an option, GM will offer 21-inch, black-painted wheels and a black ground-effects package.
Inside, the Transformers edition Camaro’s interior is trimmed in black leather with yellow stitching on the instrument panel, center console, armrests and seats, while Autobot Shield logos are embroidered on the front headrests, as well as the center console lid.
GM believes the linkage with Transformers has helped boost sales and build the Camaro brand, especially with young buyers.
“The Transformers franchise has helped introduce Camaro – and Chevrolet – to a whole new generation of fans,” said Rick Scheidt, vice president of Chevrolet marketing. “Its role in the films helped make the Camaro the best-selling sports car in America, and one of the best-known cars of any kind around the world.”
GM will open the order books on the 2012 Transformers Special Edition Camaro in July, with vehicles arriving at U.S. and Canadian showrooms in September.
